What Factors can Cause Damage or Increased Wear of Industrial Tires?

A variety of factors can cause damage or increased wear on industrial tires, the following are some of the main factors:

1. Manufacturing reasons

Material issues: The choice of tire material and manufacturing quality directly affect its durability. If there are impurities in the material, oil, or solvents that are not fully volatilized during the manufacturing process, it may lead to problems in the use of the tire.

Forming problems: If the tire is not compacted or there are bubbles during the forming process, there will be defects inside the tire, which will affect its service life.

2. Reasons for use

Excessive load: The use of industrial tires in a state of overload for a long time will cause tire deformation and wear of the rim, which will lead to tire damage. For example, a loader or mining truck operating under overloaded or off-loaded conditions will accelerate tire wear and damage.

Excessive speed: When the vehicle is traveling too fast, especially when it exceeds the maximum speed specified by the tire, the operating temperature of the tire will be too high, which will shorten the service life and increase the risk of damage.

Poor road conditions: Driving in poor road conditions, such as gravel, uneven roads or roads full of sharp objects, will accelerate tire wear and damage.

Lack of air driving: insufficient tire pressure will lead to excessive tire deformation and excessive local heat generation on the tire side, thus accelerating tire wear and stripping.

Driving habits: Bad driving habits such as sharp start, sharp braking, speeding and sharp turning will accelerate tire wear.

Third, environmental factors

High temperature environment: In a high temperature environment, the air inside the tire will expand, which may lead to increased air pressure and increase the risk of tire explosion. At the same time, high temperatures also accelerate the aging process of tire materials.

Chemicals: Exposure of tires to certain chemicals, such as strong acids, alkalis, or oils, may cause tire materials to corrod or soften, reducing their durability.

4. Improper maintenance

Undermaintenance: The lack of necessary tire maintenance, such as regularly checking the air pressure, cleaning the tire surface and maintaining proper load, will accelerate tire wear and damage.

Improper repair: Too many times of tire repair or repair quality is not high, which may lead to new damage points in the use of tires.
